ello monki!

I just sat down to have a little whinge about the fact that it is time to put away my trusty espadrilles until next year. I have been battling on ignoring the soggy toes but I think today's torrential downpour finally has me beaten. That and the fact that the funny espadrille in decay smell is beginning to get a little embarrassing...Hmmm, maybe they should just go in the bin.

So I was going to check out my new shoe purchase options on the trusty old interweb, when I decided to check out Monki quickly before I did. And now I am just massively annoyed that there are no Monki stores outside of London (they opened a concession in Selfridges last week) and you can't buy online!

Monki is proper Scandi-cool. I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm definitely sure that cool Scandinavians would most likely be annoyed by that comment. Anyway, if you are going past Selfridges and want to get me a present here are a few suggestions. DO IT!

They have put together sets to help you part with all your hard earned cash. How kind.
You can sign up, become a friend and get a magazine. It's aimed at teenagers but who cares!
These little fellas are all over Monki. Ooooh.

Mmmmmmmmm

I am a lucky girl. I have just had my first taste of Creighton's Chocolate. I think this might be the start of a long and happy relationship!

Creighton's Chocolaterie make the best chocolate. They have all kinds of different things-  lollipops, edible gifts and fancy boxed chocolates. They are hand-made in house using traditional methods but use quirky designs and flavors.  It looks and tastes amazing!

They do stuff for parties and events. The packaging is really cute so it makes a really good last minute present too (for girls and boys, check out the lollipop moustache!).

HEART SHAPED BOX £3.50

SILVER SPOON STIRRER £3.75

MR MOUSTACHE £2

CHOCOGRAPHY £2.50

little mistress

The last couple of weeks have been very unproductive. Everytime I've sat down to blog, I've been disctracted by one of the following:

  1. The sudden urgent need to make a cup of tea and eat jaffas.
  2. Doris (the cat) head butting my hand and walking on the keyboard until I give up.
  3. The realisation that my hair is past the dry shampoo stage and it really does need a proper wash. Now.
  4. A growing obsession with 'The Killing' (danish detective series) that seems to have seeped in to the dark recesses of my brain and makes me keep saying "Theis, Theis!"
The only thing I've managed to get done is to start looking for some new brands to get me in the mood to spend some money on some nice autumn clothes. Top of my list is a dress from Little Mistress. They are a London brand who are going from strength to strength with each new collection. They are very reasonably priced with dresses from £30. They have just launched a new jewellery collection too, which isn't online yet but I'll let you know when it is.

my website is ready... but i'm not quite!

I've just finished making the first version of my website! Have a look www.foxandfeather.co.uk. The only problem is I have no stock...and won't have for a while yet! I can't afford to invest in the stock until I have a bricks and mortar store and can leave my current job and actually 100% focus myself. Anyway, you can join the mailing list online and I'll let you know as soon as I start trading. There will be a few bits and bobs of vintage stuff on there soon!

make me finish it!

I have been so lazy. For Christmas (!) I was given the best ever present. It is an Emily Peacock needlepoint kit for a beautiful 'KISS' cushion.

But I am so SLOW I am not even half way through making it. Oops. I thought that maybe if I wrote about it, I might guilt trip myself into being a little bit more dedicated. I actually got the 'HUG' kit too, but can't even begin to imagine when I might get round to starting it.... There are just so many stitches! And I am very easily distracted....

Emily Peacock has also done some collaborations with Rob Ryan, as you can see on her website. Lots of good things!

I want to be little and I want to wear this!

This has to be the most beautiful coat ever! Please can I be little again? I just want to wear it... Why isn't grown-ups fashion as cute?

pure and orelia

It was Pure London (the fashion buying show) at the weekend. I spent Friday and Saturday building the stand I had designed for the company I currently work with (yes they will still remain nameless...) and then left before the show opened on Sunday. So I missed all the actual fun. As usual.  I did manage to have a quick run around pre-official opening and remembered that I hadn't bought anything from Orelia for ages! (who were there and looking lovely). Based in Brighton, Orelia make affordable and gorgeous jewellery and accessories.

I might have to buy myself this little gold and leather 'Franky' bracelet. It's only £25 so if I lay off my addiction to Barry M nail varnish for a couple of weeks I'll be laughing (well, they shouldn't make so many good colours...)

has anyone shopped here? tell me all about it...

Forever21 has just opened in London. I've not been to the store yet, but by all reports it's going to be taking on the likes of H&M for bargain fashion finds. The jeans look pretty decent on their website, but has anyone tried them on? They are definately cheap. Maybe not a good sign... Anyway it's a Californian company, selling Korean trends. Interesting newcomer to the UK fast retailing race!?
